ABOUT ME

My name is Cheryl and I have been teaching yoga in Houston, TX since 2017. As a certified yoga instructor, I specialize in creating experiences that support physical strength, spiritual growth and holistic well-beings. My classes involve personalized practices that are both accessible and transformative. I thoughtfully design routines that strengthen and stretch every major muscle group, while incorporating music and movement to create a balanced, engaging flow.

My teaching approach is rooted in meeting students where they are—I carefully consider each person’s capabilities and limitations to ensure yoga is approachable and safe for all levels. I adjust my communication style for each audience, from beginners to advanced students, making sure instruction is clear, encouraging, and effective.

Through mindful planning, compassionate teaching, and Biblical devotionals, I help students build confidence, strength, and resilience—on and off the mat to enable my students to move better, feel stronger, and live more fully rooted in Christ.

Frequently asked questions

Christian yoga is a full yoga practice—movement, breathwork, and meditation—anchored in the truth of God’s Word. Instead of chanting mantras or focusing on emptying the mind, Christian yoga invites participants to root themselves in Scripture, prayer, and Christ-centered meditation. The physical practice strengthens the body, while the spiritual focus deepens faith and devotion.

Yes, yoga has ancient roots in Eastern traditions. However, movement itself is neutral—it’s how we orient our hearts and minds that matters. In Christian yoga, every posture and breath is offered as worship to God. Just as music, art, or meditation can be used for God’s glory, so can movement. Christian yoga reframes the practice through a Biblical lens, keeping Christ at the center.

Christian yoga provides all the physical benefits of traditional yoga—strength, flexibility, balance, stress relief—while also nourishing the soul. Students leave not only with a healthier body but also with a renewed spirit, grounded in prayer and Scripture. It’s a holistic practice that helps believers love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
